ANGLOPHONE CRISIS: Another Explosion in Bamenda

The people of Bamenda woke up to a worrying situation on September 11, 2017, after a locally-manufactured bomb exploded near two petrol stations.

Reports say it was at about 4 a.m that the loud noise was heard and witnesses say they had seen two guys on a bike, drop a gas bottle near an electric pole positioned in the middle of two petrol stations; early investigations say it was a locally-manufactured bomb with the use of a gas bottle that had targeted both petrol stations.

The bomb, police say, was supposed to damage the electric pole that would in turn, spark off a fire that would have ravaged the two nearby petrol stations.

This is the second time a locally-manufactured bomb has been detonated in the North West Regional capital, Bamenda, since the advent of the Anglophone Crisis.
